Hey everyone! I'm looking for a good harness for my 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Charlie. He's about 25 lbs and super energetic on walks - pulls like crazy sometimes. I've tried a basic front-clip harness but it seems to chafe under his legs. Any recommendations for something durable and comfy that might help with pulling? Bonus if it's machine washable lol. Thanks!

Not a dog person but I feel your pain with gear issues! My fussy Persian cat, Mr. Whiskers, HATES his harness - he just flops over like a drama queen. For dogs though, my neighbor swears by the Ruffwear Front Range harness for their medium-sized mutt. It has padding and multiple adjustment points. Maybe check if they have a size that fits Charlie? Also, have you considered a no-pull leash attachment? Might help with the pulling.

Vet student here! For Cocker Spaniels, it's important to avoid pressure on their trachea since they can be prone to respiratory issues. I'd recommend a Y-shaped harness that sits away from the throat and distributes weight evenly. The Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness is popular in our clinic - it's adjustable, has a seatbelt loop (for car rides), and comes in small/medium sizes. Make sure you measure Charlie's girth properly before buying! Also, consistent leash training will help more than any gear alone.

omg Spaniels are such cuties! I have 3 cats so no dog harness experience, but I recently got a smart litter box for my fur babies and it's been a game changer. Maybe there's a techy solution for dogs too? Like those GPS tracking collars or automatic ball launchers? Sorry not much help on the harness front but good luck with Charlie!
