Hey everyone, I'm at my wit's end here! My 2-year-old terrier mix (appropriately named Chaos) destroys every single toy I buy him within minutes. We've tried rubber toys, plush toys, rope toys - you name it, he shreds it. I'm worried he's going to swallow pieces or get bored. Does ANYONE have recommendations for truly indestructible dog toys? I'm willing to pay for quality if it lasts more than a week!

TerrierTim764 - I feel your pain! My labrador is the same way. First, safety note: always supervise with any toy, even 'indestructible' ones. I've had good luck with Kong Extreme toys - the black rubber ones. They're pricey but hold up to my power-chewer. Also, GoughNuts toys have a safety indicator (if they chew through to red layer, it's time to replace). Avoid anything with squeakers or stuffing if he's a destroyer!

Interesting thread! Not a dog owner myself (I keep aquariums), but my neighbor's German Shepherd destroys everything too. He swears by those solid rubber balls made for horses - apparently they're nearly impossible to destroy. Might be worth checking farm supply stores? Just make sure it's an appropriate size so your dog doesn't choke.

lol LizardLarry135 coming in with the farm supply advice! Actually not bad though. TerrierTim764 - my pug isn't a heavy chewer but my friend's pitbull is. She uses West Paw toys (the Zogoflex ones) and says they last forever. They have a recycling program too if they do eventually get damaged. Also, have you tried frozen Kongs with peanut butter? Sometimes keeping them busy with food puzzles reduces destructive chewing.

Thanks everyone! VetVicky746 - ordering a Kong Extreme now. PugPatty680 - the frozen Kong is genius, Chaos loves peanut butter. LizardLarry135 - horse toys, who would've thought? I'll check Tractor Supply this weekend. Really appreciate all the suggestions. Will report back on what survives Chaos's wrath!
