Hey everyone, I'm at my wit's end! My 2-year-old German Shepherd mix, Tank (fitting name, I know), destroys every single toy I give him within minutes. I've tried rubber balls, rope toys, plushies with 'tough' labels - nothing lasts. He's not aggressive, just has insane chewing power and loves to shred. Anyone found something that actually survives more than a day? Budget is flexible if it really works!

Hi OP! Fellow dog mom here - I feel your pain. My lab mix used to be the same. First, safety tip: always supervise with any toy, especially if he's a heavy chewer. For truly durable options, I swear by Kong Extreme toys (the black ones) - fill with peanut butter and freeze, keeps my guy busy for ages. Also, GoughNuts toys have a safety indicator and a great warranty if they get destroyed. Nylabone's power chew line has held up well too. Avoid anything with seams or stuffing if he's a shredder!

lol coming from a cat lady perspective, dogs are something else! My sister's pitbull has similar issues tho. She got him a 'West Paw Zogoflex' toy last year and it's still intact somehow?? It's recyclable too which is cool. Also maybe try antlers or buffalo horns - natural and long-lasting, but watch for splintering. Good luck!

Another dog mom here! My terrier is a tiny destruction machine. What worked for us: the 'Benebone' wishbone shape - it's nylon and flavored, keeps him gnawing for weeks. Also, honestly, sometimes the best 'toy' is a frozen carrot or a stuffed Kong like Vicky said. Chewy.com has a 'super chewer' subscription box that sends durable toys monthly - might be worth a try! Let us know what you end up getting for Tank!
