Help! My puppy won't potty outside OR walk on leash - SOS!

Hey everyone, I'm at my wit's end with my 4-month-old golden retriever, Sunny. Two problems: 1) He still has accidents inside even though I take him out every 2 hours. 2) He REFUSES to walk on leash - just sits down or tries to chew it. I've tried treats, praise, everything. Any tips from experienced dog owners? I'm so frustrated!

First, deep breaths! Puppies are hard but so worth it. For potty training: consistency is KEY. Take him to the exact same spot outside every time, use a cue word like 'go potty,' and throw a PARTY when he goes (treats + happy voice). Clean accidents with enzyme cleaner so he can't smell old spots. For leash training: try a harness instead of collar, and practice inside first with just the leash dragging. Short, positive sessions! My lab mix took 3 months to get it down - don't give up!

lol dogs are so high maintenance. My cats just use a litter box and walk themselves. But my sister had a similar issue - she used puppy pads near the door as a 'transition zone' and those clicker things for training. Also maybe your leash is uncomfortable? My sister's dog hated metal clips.

Not a dog person (I have bearded dragons - way easier to house train, they just go in one corner lol) but my neighbor swears by that 'bell training' method for potty stuff. Hang a bell by the door, ring it every time you go out, dog learns to ring it when needed. For the leash, maybe try a longer lead in a safe area so he feels less restricted? Good luck!
