Hey everyone, I'm at my wit's end with my 5-month-old terrier mix, Buster. He's super smart but stubborn about two things: 1) He still has accidents inside even though I take him out regularly, and 2) He pulls like crazy on the leash during walks. I've tried treats, praise, and consistency, but he just gets distracted or digs his heels in. Any tips from experienced dog parents? I feel like I'm doing something wrong!

LOL I'm a cat lady so take this with a grain of salt, but my friend had a similar issue with her corgi. She said using a crate helped a ton for potty training—dogs don't like to soil their sleeping space. For the leash thing, she switched to a front-clip harness and it made a huge difference overnight. Maybe try that? Also, patience... my cats train me, not the other way around 😂

As a big dog lover (I have an Akita and a Great Dane), consistency is KEY! For potty training, take Buster out immediately after eating, drinking, waking up, and playing—every single time. Use a command like "go potty" and reward heavily when he does it outside. For leash pulling, stop walking the moment he pulls and only move when the leash is loose. It's tedious but works. Big dogs can drag you, so I feel your pain—hang in there!

Aquarium hobbyist here, so dogs aren't my forte, but I've read that positive reinforcement is crucial across pets. Maybe try higher-value treats for training? Like real chicken bits instead of kibble. Also, my bearded dragon responds well to routine—could be similar for dogs. Good luck, and don't stress too much; it'll click eventually!
