Need harness advice for my Maine Coon - he's a big boy!

Hey everyone, my Maine Coon, Thor, is about 20 lbs and super strong. I've tried a couple harnesses from the pet store but they either don't fit right or he slips out of them when he gets excited. Anyone have recommendations for a sturdy harness and leash that can handle a big cat? Bonus if it's escape-proof!

As a big dog lover, I feel your pain! For large breeds, I always recommend harnesses with multiple adjustment points. Look at the Rabbitgoo brand - they make cat harnesses that are similar to dog ones. My friend uses one for her Bengal and says it's secure. Just make sure to measure Thor's chest girth carefully!

The Kitty Holster is popular with my clients - it's more like a vest and harder to escape from. Also, start with short indoor sessions before going outside!

Aquarium guy chiming in - can't help with harnesses, but if you ever need a sturdy cage for vet visits, I've seen some great collapsible ones that work for large cats. They're like the carriers I use for reptile transport but bigger. Good luck with Thor!
