Hey everyone, I'm desperate for advice. My 2-year-old German Shepherd mix destroys EVERY toy I give him within minutes. I've tried rubber balls, rope toys, plush toys with 'tough' stitching - nothing lasts. He's not aggressive, just has insane chewing power and seems to think toys are puzzles to dismantle. Any recommendations for truly indestructible toys? Budget isn't really an issue if it actually lasts more than a week. Thanks!

OP, I feel your pain! My Akita Kuma was the same way until I discovered GoughNuts toys. They're made of super tough rubber and have a safety indicator - if your dog chews through to the red layer inside, it's time to replace (but mine never has!). The ring shape is great for tug-of-war too. Also, have you tried antlers? Naturally shed deer antlers last my power-chewers months, and they're great for dental health. Just avoid the split ones if your dog is really destructive.

As a vet tech and dog mom to a destructive Labrador, I second the antler recommendation! But important safety note: always supervise with any chew toy, even 'indestructible' ones. For manufactured toys, West Paw's Zogoflex line has held up well for us - they offer a one-time replacement guarantee if your dog destroys it. Also, consider mental stimulation toys like Kong Wobblers filled with kibble - keeps my dog busy without pure destruction. How much exercise is your dog getting? Sometimes extra energy channels into toy demolition.

Lol coming from the reptile side of pets, I can't help much with dog toys, but my friend's Boxer was similar. She swears by those black Kong toys - the extreme version, not the red ones. She also freezes peanut butter inside them to make them last longer. Funny how dogs and some reptiles share that destructive chewing instinct! My bearded dragon would demolish decor if I let him. Maybe try rotating toys so they stay novel? Good luck!

Thanks everyone! AkitaAlice406 - ordering a GoughNuts ring now, and gonna pick up an antler this weekend. VetVicky746 - he gets two 45-min walks daily plus backyard time, but maybe I need more mental games. The Kong Wobbler is a great idea. BoxerBill243 - already have the black Kong, but freezing PB inside is genius! Appreciate all the suggestions. Will report back on what survives the shepherd test!
